Back to school!

Yes, the time has now come to say good-bye to summer and say hello to 2 seasons of teachers cramming basically useless information inside the brains of children that don't know any better, it's time to go back to school. And in our family those people are: Jerusha, (going to an unnamed Monmouth school in Monmouth (pronounced "mon-mowth"), Micah, (going to OSU in Corvallis), Elijah, (going to Linn Benton Community College (LBCC) in Albany), and Rachel (going into her first year of South Albany High school so she can play sports.) Jerusha says: No comment. Micah says: No comment. Elijah says: "Mwahahahahaha!!!" Rachel says: "I'm going."

II            Back packing It's Backpacking season! And this year is special, it was Ezra's first time going! There were two trips, a little kids trip up to Carl Lake, (consisting of Rachel, Sarah, Jewel, Ezra, and Dad), and a big kids trip up South Sister, (consisting of Faith, Grace, Rachel, Elijah, Keith Stirn, Hannah, and Dad.) The little kids trip was from the 17th-19th of August, And the bigger kids trip was over labor day weekend and they just got back yesterday.

Word for word interviews:  Sarah says: (Sarah turned around) "Talk to the hand." Hand: "Secretly I'm very lonely." Sarah: "Okay, lets see, we traveled around Carl lake, and we left lemon drops every time we hit a land mark. Um...We saw a dear and it's fawn. And that's it, bye.    Jewel says: "It was fun. There was this whole site where you could see the lake, and the trees. And, it went down -you could practically dive from this one jump. And there was a place near that cliff, so we laid down there and watched it, and we threw a rock down, and it, like, bounced all the way down, and every time it bounced we would go 'Ahh!!!' 'Ohh' 'Ouch.' Also we went down to the edge of the lake to get frogs, and we were like 'swim free little, swim less, frogs.' They also tried to burie this one frog so it would die alive, and then we came back and dug it up and it was just sitting on the side of the grave."      Ezra says: "Alright, so, I was really, really, ya know walking down the...after the hiking, everyone was walking down the trail and ya, saw some frogs, tried to catch them, and I was like ya ya ya, and then I was like CHIPMUNK!!! Ya and I had lots of fun, we went swimming in the lake, and I saw a deer on the road, and, when we were driving out we went swimming in the Calapooia. And we went to grandma's, well, it was more like dad got out of the car a couple seconds, talked to grandma while we stayed in the van. And then I (very long pause) went to fire bridge-Oh!! And I went to lime berry on the way back. Ya, and then I got a lot on mine. And then we went to fire bridge, had an awesome time, and yep, that's all I got."

Helicopter landing On Wednesday, the 7th of August, the DeVyldere family was having a quiet family night dinner, when they heard a very loud noise. Everyone (except Mom and Dad) ran outside to get a look, we knew what it was, it was a helicopter! We all poured out into the street to see the helicopter land on the fire station next door's landing pad. But, you know, it's Tangent we're talking about, nothing normal really happens, so the helicopter headed towards the school a couple blocks away for some ridiculous reason, and so almost all of the DeVyldere kids ran (bare footed of course) down to the school where they saw a bunch of firemen huddled around the pilot of the flying machine. And since we left the door open, cookie came to the school also and decided to be a part of the meeting too. So we had to haul her back in Clifford. The fire station really out did themselves on this one, there were 5 fire transportation devices for the fire men not including a little red car and a mysterious A team looking red van there, too.

Sports story The latest updates on the sports is...:

Fall: Rachel made JV soccer in her freshmen year!! And her and possibly Ezra are doing soccer. Winter: Rachel Grace and Faith all doing basketball, (also Faith's first year.) Spring: Probably Rachel doing soccer, but nothing is official yet.

Hannah moving out As you may know Hannah D. is moving out (not!!) Hannah was going to move out and go to Linfield college all the way in Mcminnville, but now Hannah is going to be staying! She is NOT moving out anymore and she is going to be working at the B.G.C.C, (boys and girls club of corvallis), and she is also applying for an internship.

Dad's birthday!!! Dad D.'s birthday was on the 15th of August, 2013, but we celebrated it on Friday, the 16th of August, 2013. Dad's birthday was celebrated by a really good dinner, followed by blackberries on angel food cake (we didn't really put all 35 candles on the cake, we just put a couple), and then the cards and presents were given out, which turned out to be really funny because the older kids and the younger kids each went to 2 different stores at 2 different times and got the same card without knowing it, but he loved it so I guess we all had really good taste.

The weekly L.K.S news: The Chilin' Place

Sarah (the president of the LKS) says: "The chilin place is classified."

Jewel (vice president of the LKS) says: "Well, Sarah would hurt me but, if I'm going to say anything about the chilim' place, I'm saying that Grace turned it into a home and she's taking us to a boarding school. And, it really is the LKS chilin' place, or it could be used for anything else, but mainly the LKS chilin' place. Probably midnight's in there now, cause it's a protector for him. So, that's it."

Ezra says: "The LKS chilin' place was originally the LKS chilin' place, but Grace came in, changed up a few stuff, now and before it was a waterproof fort for midnight, and right now midnight is as snug as can be in the fort, and it is pretty awesome."

Keturah says: "If there's a person that you know what to do with, you have to like make it run 5 laps for a little bit if it does bad things at the chilin' place. And that's a news report, put it in The Weekly Comet."

Anonymous tip: Elijah and Ezra were keeping a spider in their room until recently when an unknown source (the boogy man) hired another unknown source to grab the jar and set it free when Ezra went back packing. Also it is believe that this spider escaped on it own.So boogy amn watch out.

                  Newsflash                           (did you know?)

That Hannah D. got a new laptop and named her Sunny?

That Ezra's spider (before it was stolen) was named Spidey?

That in the DeVyldere house, golabol is written on the ceiling? It's also in the dictionary. (Inside joke.)
