The Weekly Comet 56 (comments and criticisms welcome)

Family Emergency Plan A recent story in the "Tangent Newsletter" (one of the rival newspapers in our vicinity) has brought to our attention the very inauspicious topic of family emergency plans. In order to get a better understanding of how much knowledge the general household public really has about the matter we interviewed "the general household public": Below are the questions that were asked of the community and some of their answers. Be aware that they replied in a manner that...defies description:
How would you contact family in case of emergency? Ezra: Ride the neighbors' horse to mom. Hannah: In the case that I need to get in touch with my family in an emergency I will roll over and kick Rachel in the head. Jerusha: I would probably put an add in the weekly comet telling them where I am. Joel: That depends. Is this a taco-related emergency? In that case, I would most likely send out a massive group text, saying: "Help. Send tacos." What 3 things would you NEED to have with you in the event of an emergency? Keturah: A fire alarm, a gas tank and my singing guitar. Ezra: My lucky homing pigeon, a laser pointer and a water bottle of water...to drink. Hannah: Hiking boots, a pocket knife, and Rachel. Jerusha: Joel, Subway, my phone (for angry birds.) Joel: Tacos, tacos and tacos. Let's say a typical emergency comes up like an angry band of giant robots attack your home and you manage to make it out alive, what would you do next??? Keturah: Punch the robots in the face. Ezra: I would hitchhike to the creek over the fence, make a carriage out of boards and have our neighbors dogs pull it to Disney land. Mark: B uild a new home. Hannah: Call word girl and brag. Jerusha: Probs option the story for a movie and make a lot of money.
(Extra points to Jerusha for using "Probs")
Joel:
I would probably Google "angry band of giant robots" to see if someone has already used that name for their band. If not, I would proceed to buy the domain name for angrygiantrobots.com, just in case. What is an "Aglet"? (Let's just say that if a satellite was about to crash into our living room and the only way to stop it was to give it an Aglet, half the general household public would probably be at the farmers market...) Bonus question: The police have turned against you. What's your next move? Rachel: Go to grandma DeVyldere's and hide in the hills. Mark B: R ob a bank. Jerusha: Form my own government. With my own governor and my own laws. Joel: I nominate Grace DeVyldere, Head of the Army! Hannah:Dial 10-1-1. Note to self: I must get myself an actual tape recorder. Then I will no longer be speaking into the garage door opener.
Anonymous tip: Keturah is turning 6 today, watch out!
Sports update: Rachel D. continues to be the rising star of the Varsity B-ball team, Faith D. has her first tournament on Saturday, and the notoriously athletic Grace D. might be playing post!
