Super Surprise Sensation

Two days ago, a surprise party was unveiled for Jerusha D.'s birthday. As most of you know, Jerusha D.'s birthday is the day after Christmas so it gets mixed in with the Christmas festivities and we never get to give her a real family and friends party. Legend has it that Mom and Hannah D. were pondering this predicament when they both had a realization after getting hit in the head with apples: to have her party two months early! (Nobody knows exactly how it happened, but this version is better than nothing. ) So Hannah and Mom D.   made a fantastic Heffalump themed surprise party for Jerusha's 23rd year. (Heffalump: like an elephant except better (you can find one in any of the true Winnie the Pooh books or movies.) The party was planned to start at 2:00 pm so that was when Jerusha was supposed to show up. Long story short, Jerusha ended up coming to the tree-house early (can't blame Jerusha for not being late.) The party was a little different than we planned, but she WAS very surprised.  The party was on Sunday, November 2nd, was held at the tree-house (the house of trees that is home to Lena Y. and Susannah O. (AKA Susena YO)), and had many variations of events that took place, as described below: First was an epic game of interpretive charades, where everyone tried to act out other people. (This takes both charades and peculiar to a whole new level.) Next was an awe-inspiring video that Hannah put together with different clips of family and friends answering the following questions:  - What do you like most about Jerusha?  - What is your favorite memory with Jerusha?  - When did you first learn to fear Jerusha?  - What TV character do you think Jerusha is most like?  - What song do you feel best represents/makes you think about Jerusha? Link to video below:

After that there was a spectacular performance from Joel D., Susannah O., and a guitar which got 2 encores and an agent from the L.K.S's new business "Agentsee" their motto "(where we see you!)" Jerusha's party was described as "fun," "entertaining," and "Celery," clearly a 23rd birthday Jerusha will never forget.

Harvest Festival Last Wednesday evening the L.K.S and our next door neighbor Emma was beckoned to the backyard to endure the 2014 Harvest Festival. This years' festival included:

- An obstacle course consisting of barb-wire, army crawling, and what may or may not have been laser beams.

- A three legged obstacle race, consisting of push-ups, shovels, and rotten apples.

- A "keep the apple on your spoon" race, also consisting of rotten apples.

- A reenactment of "The Four Little Kids and the Big Bad Sarah" (patent pending DeVyldere household.)

- A "Wheel O' Fun" consisting of fun challenges including but not limited to "Apple that Bob!" (where the contestant has one minute to bob for as many apples as they can, or else...well, we can't be sure, but we're fairly certain that it involves monkeys.)

Timber!!!! (Now with 40 percent more hedge) As you may know, last winter, along with the abundant amount of joy and igloos the snow brought us, it also killed our two hedges. The smaller hedge got cut down during the summer, which left (pause for dramatic effect) the big hedge. So, last last Sunday afternoon us kids accompanied Dad D. and his chain saw to the 40% taller hedge and and chopped it down. It took a good 2 Sunday afternoons, but we managed to cut and haul all of the hedge separating us and our neighbor's property and distributed it onto our now massive burn pile. No one particularly "loved" the outdoor labor, but we did get a new revised Christmas carol out of it: "Haul'n Around the Big Burn Pile," (coming soon to Ezra's garage sale nowhere near you!!!)

Top Dog Elijah is officially a new manager to Uptown lights!!! There's not much to say about this new transition of titles for Elijah except that it is an extraordinarily amazing upgrade. Elijah got the new job at Uptown lights two weeks ago. His carreer has been a major hit and now he even has a car sticker (very official like.)

Rumor column The L.K.S's new "Agentsee" is being shut down for "lack of agents." Jerusha D. was arrested for posing as a famous actor from "Lego Movie" and NOT kicking the required amount of chairs.

Noodles are strange aliens taking over the earth. (You didn't hear it from me)

Newsflash (Did you know?) That Ezra's garage sale is opening again for one day only on his birthday? That Micah D., Joel D., and Mark B got a new apartment? That Ezra is making a Lego farm? Now you know

Uptown lights!!! Uptown light is a company that was started by Tim Rist and some unnamed person a year ago. Benny R. and Elijah D. are both managers in the company and set up estimates and such. The object of the business is to put up amazing Christmas lights for people in the Willamette Valley, (which comes in handy with this Oregon weather we're having this season.) They'll put up your freaky Santa Clauses and take them down for a reasonable price, now I don't know about you, but to me that seems like a good deal.

Come to Uptown lights today!!!!!!! Or not because you can't really go to them.
