Costume party!!!
Last Wednesday there was a costume birthday party for Ezra and Elijah. There were lots of costumes including some of my favorites: Mom D. was the old woman who lived in a shoe, Jerusha was Candace, (a cartoon character from a popular show), Keturah was Cinderella BEFORE she was a princess, Ezra as a western sheriff with Elijah as his deputy, and Tangents finest, tickle monster that is, (we don't have to tell you who he is.) Oh! and Isaiah was a fireman. The party consisted of partying, trying to take a family picture, the reading of your favorite kid-written newspaper, cake, and then numerous games of DeVyldere pit. Twas a very loud night to remember.
Keturah says: "It was fun, and they had good party."
Ezra says: "I'm really happy and I got lots of cool Nerf guns."
Jewel says: "What's T.W.C?" (Sadly, Jewel has been missing since she said that. Our sources tell us that she has been in the funny farm with people trying to snap her back into the real world. Of course she denies it, but why would she ever say she doesn't know what T.W.C is?)
Sarah says: "I saw a black cat. Warning: Black cats are evil. Literally, he scratched me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Faith says: "Never try dressing up as an eighties waitress. Aprons, long skirts, and tennis shoes do not go well together."
Grace says: "It was awesome."
Rachel says: "No matter what I say you will just make up your own quote. You can quote me on that."
Elijah says: "It was ugly, very ugly." (?!)
Hannah says: "What costume party? Everyone dressed like themselves."
Dad says: "Not much." (Inside joke)
Mom says: "I have so many children I don't know what to do!"
Mom had surgery
As you probably know already, Mom was having some problems with some organs and needed to have surgery, so on Monday, at 6 in the morning, she had surgery. It will take Mom D. a full week to be okay but 6 weeks to fully recover. The surgery went well and she got back yesterday evening. And some people from Lebanon four squirgle church (A squirgle is a mix between a square and a circle. We named it that due to the fact that the kids in the church could not make an actual circle if their lives depended on it), have been bringing us meals.
Mom D. says: (Mom D. is still recovering so I could not get what she has to say about it yet. But I will put it in the next edition if she's feeling better.)
The return of Ralphy
Last time we wrote about Ralphy I said he was Cookie's boyfriend, which is correct, but the reason you haven't heard of him since a while ago is because Dad D. got so tired of Ralphy finding every single way to get into our yard (because he is so small) that he took Ralphy in our car and drove him to the old Bass Estate and dropped him off, saying that if Ralphy came back the next morning he would call animal control, but Ralphy never came back, until now. Last Wednesday Faith D. was walking out of the sunroom when a dog almost knocked her over. It was then that she realized that dog was not cookie, it was Ralphy, the well mannered dog she named. Faith and Grace D. got Ralphy and put a leash on him and after many attempts, got him, tied him to the outside of the gate, and waited till Elijah got home. The girls thought Elijah knew where Ralphy lived, but apparently he didn't. So Elijah took Ralphy on walk trying to find his owner, but he couldn't. We thought this was the end, but the next day, Ralphy was nowhere to be seen.
This just goes to show you, never trust dogs that are smaller than you.
Anonymous tip: The L.K.S is planning to kidnap the evil Santa Claws in the mall this Christmas.
Sports: Ultimate blanket jumping.
Tools: Lots of blankets and pillows in a big pile, a runway, and kids.
Rules: Once the person ahead of you hits the pile, you go, and don't look back.
How to play: Everyone gets in a line, and the first person goes through the run way and jumps/somersaults/cartwheels/belly flops into the pile. Once the first person hits the pile, you go and the first person has to roll out of the way before you land on them, and then you rush back to the line and do it again. It just keeps going like this until someone either gets hurt, or everyone drops out except one, and that person is the winner.
Note: DO NOT sue us.
Have you ever wondered: How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck would chuck wood? Well, these people came up with the answer to this famous question, somehow, and I couldn't think of a better way to write a story like this, so just check out the website: Link: http://scientopia.org/blogs/scicurious/2012/10/05/friday-weird-science-how-much-wood-could-a-woodchuck-chuck/
