Veteran's day parade

Last Monday Hannah - Keturah as well as Mom D. and a tall friend of the DeVylderes Keith Stirn went to the Veteran's day parade in Albany, OR. There were two trips from the DeVyldere household to the parade in the Goldfish, and then everyone got seated and watched the sensational parade.

The parade consisted of lots of men in camouflage from certain parts of the army, so many that if we were to name them all we would probably lose at least half of our viewers, but we will name them any way:.....Just kidding! We wouldn't want to deprive a hundred or so people of the best DeVyldere newspaper there is! But back to the point, other than tons of U.S army men there was a bunch of cars from different periods of time, Bands from some of the schools in the area schools in the area, (including the North Albany middle school band where yet another, agreeably shorter, friend of the DeVylderes, Serena Chladek, played the flute in), lots of candy, and...Yeah, it was kind of a blur from their on, but it was tons of fun, and, for once in a lifetime, it really wasn't that cold.

Yay for the Veterans!!!!

Local Grace rescues puppy from the "streets."

Grace says: "I found this little puppy in the middle of the street," Note: Please take into account that Grace's idea of the "street" is the driveway. "And I rescued it and gave it to Elijah because he said he knew where it lived. I'm just happy the dog is safe now."

Anonymous tip: The entire DeVyldere household skipped school on Monday.

New sport: Stair surfing

It's official, the unofficial L.K.S court has elected stair surfing as a sport. So for those of you who have never heard of it, here's how to play:

Rules: None.

How to "play": Get a bunch of blankets and pillows and put them at the bottom of the stairs, and then put blankets and pillows at the top of the stairs. You try to surf down the stairs and the survivors land on the padding at the bottom.

The reason that stair surfing was not elected a sport earlier is because the L.K.S hadn't really had time to truly appreciate the art of stair surfing before last Thursday, where we made an all-out-amazing-super-spectacular-stair-surfing-olympics. The olympics consisted of a big ride for everyone at the beginning, followed by individual tries to do the coolest fall, and then the classic tunnel-all-the-way-under-the-padding-time for Ezra, and finally the clean-it-all-up-before-Hannah-gets-home phase. It was a stair surfing Olympics to remember.

So anyway, now you are trained in the art of stair surfing. A  fun, fast, limb losing experience type game that is sweeping the nation with it's creative ways.

The story of Nitty

Instead of santa claus, (which the entire L.K.S is convinced is evil), the L.K.S believes in the story of Nitty. So, without further to do, the story of Nitty:

Sarah says: "The story of Nitty is one day in the middle of nowhere pioneers where hiking and one of the had a baby which they named Nitty because they really liked to knit. Now, these people weren't really nice to other people but Nitty wanted to change that. One day when Nitty was six there was a snow blizzard and Nitty got left behind, so Nitty wandered and found a group of Indians and she helped them by knitting stuff for them. And every christmas Nitty brings all the little kids in the world presents, (most of them are either stuff that's knitted or food). And there have been sightings of her in the back forty area.

Win and you get to pie the loser in the face with a bubble pie! Sign ups are on the front porch on Thursday. There will also be snacks."

Re-re-painting of the Tangent fire station.

I know what you're thinking: "Why don't all platypuses wear fedoras?" either that or "Why didn't this newspaper report on the first re painting of the fire station across the street?" Well, to answer the second question, I was going to report on it when they were finished, but they took such a long time trying to paint it Tan I would have done a story on it this week anyway because they just finished, but we saw the head chief talking to the men working on it and the next thing we knew it was grey. I'm just glad they didn't leave it Tan, it just didn't go with the whole "Red, White, and no rollerblading" theme they have going on. So, just so we're clear, the fire station across the street has been re-re-painted.

Newsflash

(Did you know?)

That Keturah is having a show tonight?

That Mom is having surgery on thanksgiving?

That when a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, the L.K.S is the cause of the fallen tree?

Now you know
